Our PTA held its 36th Annual General Meeting on the 7th of April 2017 at the SMPS Music Room. The PTA is a reflection of the ongoing partnership between parents and the school.

PTA President Ada Tsang welcomed all attendees to this year’s AGM, followed by Ms. Pang’s opening speech, highlighting the spirit behind the PTA. She also thanked previous committee members for their unrelenting dedication and effort toward the successful activities organized for the SMPS family in the past year.

Ada summarized all the activities which the PTA organized in 2016 : from the various recess time activities, to the very successful Children’s Day, Teacher’s Day and Green Dot Day Concert. This was followed by the Treasurer’s report for 2016. This year, we thanked our outgoing PTA ExCo members, Ms Sharifah Chong, Ms Vivien Han, Ms Cecilia Lee, Ms Tracy Heah, Ms Ho Pei Ee and Ms Jennifer Yeong, who have contributed their time and effort toward the PTA and SMPA over the years. Their examples will continue to inspire the PTA to serve with passion.

The meeting ended with the introduction of the new committee members, some of whom are familiar faces, having served the PTA for years, and several new committee members who gave a brief introduction of themselves during the meeting. This year, the PTA ExCo elected a record number of sixteen committee members into office !

After the conclusion of the AGM, new committee members met to elect the main Office Bearers for 2017.
